Short-Term Visits for Tourism and Business
The Short-Stay Schengen Visa (Type C) allows you to enter and travel within the entire Schengen Area (29 European countries, including France) for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This visa is mandatory for nationalities that do not have a visa-exemption agreement with the Schengen Area.
Who is it for?
- Tourists: For cultural visits, holidays, or visiting family and friends.
- Business Travelers: For meetings, conferences, or professional training.
- Short-Term Students: For language courses or exams of up to 3 months.
Requirements
- Proof of travel insurance covering up to €30,000 for medical and repatriation costs.
- Proof of accommodation in the Schengen Area (Hotel bookings or Attestation d'accueil).
- Evidence of sufficient financial means for the duration of the stay.
- Round-trip flight bookings and a detailed travel itinerary.
Warning: Short-stay visas cannot be converted into long-stay residence permits once in France.
